The soft morning light filtered through the sheer curtains of the kitchen, bathing the space in a golden glow. The gentle aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the crispness of the morning air. Jhavni sat perched on the edge of the cool marble counter, her legs swinging lazily as she watched Shourya move effortlessly about the kitchen.
He had insisted she stay put. "You’ve had a rough week. Let me take care of breakfast today," he had said earlier, his tone firm but tender.
The morning had started unexpectedly. Jhavni woke early with the discomfort of her period. After quickly freshening up and changing, she’d returned to bed, seeking the solace of her husband’s arms. Shourya, ever attuned to her needs, held her close without a word, his embrace, warm and comforting.
Now, his arms were firmly wrapped around her waist as she leaned against his chest, the two wrapped in the soothing cocoon of each other’s presence. Words weren’t necessary; the quiet intimacy of their connection spoke volumes. His hands moved in slow, gentle circles along her sides, occasionally brushing against the soft fabric of her shirt. She sighed softly, tilting her head as his lips pressed a tender kiss to the crook of her neck.
